Robot cable for drag chain and robotic arm applications. Class 6 ultra-flexible conductors. PUR jacket rated for millions of bending cycles. 300/500V.
IFlexCable’s robot cable for drag chain applications is engineered for continuous motion, ultra-high bending cycles, and reliable performance in the most demanding industrial automation environments. Built with Class 6 ultra-flexible conductors and premium PUR jacket, this high flex cable for robotics delivers 10+ million bending cycles in cable carrier systems.
A drag chain cable (also called an energy chain cable or cable carrier cable) is a cable specifically designed to travel through a cable carrier (drag chain) system while the robot or machine is in continuous motion. Unlike fixed installation cables, drag chain robot cables must withstand millions of back-and-forth bending cycles without insulation cracking or conductor breakage.
Our robot cable drag chain series is the ideal solution for articulated robot arms, SCARA robots, delta robots, and collaborative robots (cobots) where cables must survive years of uninterrupted 24/7 operation.
| Component | Specification |
|---|---|
| Power Cores | Class 6 ultra-flexible copper, cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation |
| Control Cores | Braided copper shield for EMI protection in servo drive environments |
| Signal Pairs | Twisted pair configuration for encoder and fieldbus communication |
| Reinforcement | Optional Kevlar braiding for additional tensile strength |
| Jacket | PUR (polyurethane), drag chain rated, oil and abrasion resistant |
Delta robots typically require ultra high flex cable rated at 10 million+ bending cycles due to the constant multi-directional motion in parallel arm linkages. For standard SCARA or 6-axis articulated robots, 5-10 million cycle ratings are typically sufficient.
Yes. IFlexCable’s robot drag chain cable is suitable for collaborative robots including Universal Robots (UR series), Techman Robot, and Franka Emika. We also offer specific cobot cable configurations with lighter jackets and tighter bending radii.
Robot arm cables route through the internal structure of the robot arm and experience multi-directional bending. Drag chain cables travel through external cable carriers and experience primarily unidirectional continuous flexing. Both require high flex construction, but drag chain cables have additional requirements for smooth, low-friction outer jackets suitable for energy chain systems.
Yes. IFlexCable provides OEM/ODM customization including specific cable lengths, pre-terminated connectors (M23, M17, D-sub, etc.), and hybrid cable configurations combining power, signal, and ethernet in a single cable.
